Another sweet ride

Another sweet ride

To extend the reach of a desert business beyond the café, Bettie's invested in "Dee Dee"— a double decker cupcake stand retrofit from a 1950s era British tour bus—allowing them to bring cupcakes to venues and street corners all over the region. But one thing was still missing: a shuttle bus to bring confections to all of the working folks all week long. Meet "Cee Cee"—a single decker cupcake truck and the newest member of the Betties Fleet.

Telling the whole story

Telling the whole story

In support of Prysm’s official product launch, Thinktiv developed a set of three of brochures. These brochures deliver a holistic message about the brand, products and their applications. The first brochure introduces Prysm’s foundational ecovative thinking philosophy. The second focused on the applications of and environments for LPD technology. Lastly, a product brochure detailed the technical specifics of the revolutionary LPD tile.

"Call together now"

Callvine partnered with Thinktiv to create an identity for their new group calling iPhone application. In addition to the visual design of the mark, Thinktiv helped to create the over brand’s semantic position, coining the value line: “Call together now.”

Positioning quality of experience

Positioning quality of experience

To launch Catchpoint into the QoE (Quality of Experience) market, Thinktiv helped to position the company and develop its brand. QoE is the next logical extension of the QoS (Quality of Service) network management. Catchpoint required a visual position, which represented both the complexity of the problem and the intelligence of their solution. The mark employs a radial series of dots illustrating both the complexity of data as well as the touch points of the system; their arrangement creates a dimension and visual motion in conjunction with a subtle gradient.

Bringing light to life

Bringing light to life

After 6 months of iterative, participatory development, Thinkiv is proud to release Prysm—a brand to replace the transitional working title brand “Spudnik.” Throughout the process or team has worked with Prysm to articulate a compelling visual and verbal face for company in the commercial display market. Prysm’s logotype features a bisected capital ‘Y’ as a visual reminder of the intersection of laser light and surface emissive phosphors in their underlying LPD technology. The brand language harnesses a blue to violet color palate as a nod to the laser technology that underlies the product. Included in the brand identity are a custom cut of a classic typeface that makes up the logotype and other essential brand elements, a sharp black and white color space for the presentation of their product on a crisp strong background and a platform for consistent high quality image development. Moreover, the tagline reminds the audience of Prysm’s its ability to create stunning, larger than life experiences while offering a solution with 75% less power consumption than other technologies in the commercial display market—and good for the planet is good for life.

Prysm.com launches

As an intermediate step toward product launch (planned for June of 2010), Thinktiv designed an introductory website to launch the new Prysm Brand. Engadget had this to so say: “LPD display tech from Prysm uses lasers, phosphors, groovy Flash intros…”

Custom Cut Type Furthers the Unique Position of a Brand

Custom Cut Type Furthers the Unique Position of a Brand

Thinktiv is working with one of our customers to develop a unique, contemporary technology brand complete with a custom cut and custom weighted typeface.

Creating approachability in financial user experience

Sharespost offers a truly unique offering for pre-ipo businesses. The service affords individuals the ability to gain liquidity for private company shares. Whereas this task has previously been extremely difficult to both price and regulate, SharesPost created a unique proposition: a marketplace to both buy and sell shares with a research backed index to judge and validate each trade’s value. Thinktiv was tasked with creating a user experience that reflected the approachability of a web 2.0 aesthetic, but retained an aesthetic connection to traditional financial institutions.

Using technology for developing unique brand stories

Using technology for developing unique brand stories

The emergence of providers like iStock Photo has had a huge impact on the access customers have to creative content. However, that impact isn't always positive. While the quantity of the available assets is large, the quality, consistency and uniqueness is generally small. Custom photography or hand rendered illustrations are usually outside the reach as they are both time and price prohibitive. As a way around this chicken and egg dilemma, we've been researching ways to use software to create unique brand assets while keeping time and money in line. In this example we're researching stop motion photography, however the tools can be used for a much wider range of image creation. In use here are Cinema 4d, Realflow and Maxwell Render.

Thinktiv helps Aegis deliver new brand messages

For their VIBES partner conference in Las Vegas, Thinktiv worked with Aegis to produce a series of animations visualizing the core values of the growing and now $500B worldwide company. These animations were used to fill in the space between speakers and provide a branded backdrop for the conference.

Wireframe Standards for Blueprint CSS Web Development

Wireframe Standards for Blueprint CSS Web Development

Over the last year and dozen or so customer programs, we've radically changed our wireframing techniques in order to drastically reduce the time between visual design and code. We've re-constructed our illustrator templates to reflect development guidelines for Blueprint CSS and other popular standards. This allows for rapid, pixel perfect, design and development. Further, we've standardized on common styles, block elements and interaction guidelines to further accelerate the process.
