We’re working with OtherInbox to enhance its Daily Digest email for YahooMail users. The Daily Digest summarizes users’ daily email traffic into easy to browse categories saving them time and ensuring their most important senders (real people) get their attention first.

Prysm.com launches

As an intermediate step toward product launch (planned for June of 2010), Thinktiv designed an introductory website to launch the new Prysm Brand. Engadget had this to so say: “LPD display tech from Prysm uses lasers, phosphors, groovy Flash intros…”

Visualizing an assessment

Visualizing an assessment

As part of the GoLeaps program, Thinktiv created a new visual experience for the  student assessment application. The visual style was designed to respect the existing GoLeaps brand, but extend it into a contemporary visual design appropriate for the education market.

Reaching Ignition

Thinktiv worked with long time partner and entrepreneur advocate Josh Baer to create a unique design for Ignite Austin. Ignite conferences offer a unique opportunity for presenting innovative ideas in a timely fashion—with just 5 minutes and 20 slides.

Creating approachability in financial user experience

Sharespost offers a truly unique offering for pre-ipo businesses. The service affords individuals the ability to gain liquidity for private company shares. Whereas this task has previously been extremely difficult to both price and regulate, SharesPost created a unique proposition: a marketplace to both buy and sell shares with a research backed index to judge and validate each trade’s value. Thinktiv was tasked with creating a user experience that reflected the approachability of a web 2.0 aesthetic, but retained an aesthetic connection to traditional financial institutions.

Playing the ace

Thinktiv worked with long-time partner Scott Painter on an innovative new company idea named U.S. Digital Gaming. USDG mission is to enable key operators and states to provide legally compliant, responsible online poker in the United States.

Using technology for developing unique brand stories

Using technology for developing unique brand stories

The emergence of providers like iStock Photo has had a huge impact on the access customers have to creative content. However, that impact isn't always positive. While the quantity of the available assets is large, the quality, consistency and uniqueness is generally small. Custom photography or hand rendered illustrations are usually outside the reach as they are both time and price prohibitive. As a way around this chicken and egg dilemma, we've been researching ways to use software to create unique brand assets while keeping time and money in line. In this example we're researching stop motion photography, however the tools can be used for a much wider range of image creation. In use here are Cinema 4d, Realflow and Maxwell Render.

Redefining the handheld student assessment platform

Thinktiv worked with long-time development partners Growth Acceleration Partners (GAP) to create a compelling re-architecture of the GoLeaps assessment platform. GoLeaps—which helps teachers evaluate the growth in emotional, societal and cognitive maturity of their students—required that the User Interface dramatically improve the overall flow and usability of the application without disrupting the current entrenched user base. Thinktiv worked to define a simple and approachable tabbed approach mimicking printed material experience to create an easy intuitive interface.

Thinktiv helps Aegis deliver new brand messages

For their VIBES partner conference in Las Vegas, Thinktiv worked with Aegis to produce a series of animations visualizing the core values of the growing and now $500B worldwide company. These animations were used to fill in the space between speakers and provide a branded backdrop for the conference.

Wireframe Standards for Blueprint CSS Web Development

Wireframe Standards for Blueprint CSS Web Development

Over the last year and dozen or so customer programs, we've radically changed our wireframing techniques in order to drastically reduce the time between visual design and code. We've re-constructed our illustrator templates to reflect development guidelines for Blueprint CSS and other popular standards. This allows for rapid, pixel perfect, design and development. Further, we've standardized on common styles, block elements and interaction guidelines to further accelerate the process.
