Sharespost is a web service that makes private equity liquid by providing individuals the ability to buy and sell privately held stock. Thinktiv helped Sharepost by designing the corporate brand and logo, and providing visual design and interaction consulting.

The Sharespost brand must execute on two primary axes. First, it must maintain its presence in the Web 2.0 marketspace- the core of which is ground breaking and disruptive. Second, it must convey trust. Private equity exchange is a ground-breaking service, semi-complicated in nature and must be facilitated through escrow and with contracts. We designed the brand as a blend of these two principles.

In addition, the user experience must blend many of the traits of traditional stock investing along with Sharespost unique transaction model. We focused heavily on simplicity, relying on conventional controls and user interaction paradigms as frequently as possible, reserving innovation for the appropriate differentiated components of the Sharespost transaction experience.

Listspinner is a web service that provides users with ways to share and compare opinions with their friends. Users create and participate in 'top 10' lists which pull rich media content from the internet on their behalf, to support their point of view.

Thinktiv is the brand creation, product strategy, user experience and technical delivery team for all of Listspinner. We began by helping define the vision and strategy for opinion collection and sharing - an embeddable, all in one widget that is visually customizable to match the look and feel of its destination site. What followed was an exploration and creation of a brand that could act in both an ingredient and stand-alone experience.

Our technical decision was to use Adobe Flash to develop a highly-interactive, visually rich user experience which met the need for portability and further provided users with drag and drop functionality and the ability to play rich media from the internet, inline. In addition, customizing the user interface of the Listspinner widget to embed within the brand of its destination site became a critical component of the experience. We were able to leverage this capability to custom brand Listspinner for Disney to embed on their MySpace page for their TV show, Lost.
