Sharespost is a web service that makes private equity liquid by providing individuals the ability to buy and sell privately held stock. Thinktiv helped Sharepost by designing the corporate brand and logo, and providing visual design and interaction consulting.
The Sharespost brand must execute on two primary axes. First, it must maintain its presence in the Web 2.0 marketspace- the core of which is ground breaking and disruptive. Second, it must convey trust. Private equity exchange is a ground-breaking service, semi-complicated in nature and must be facilitated through escrow and with contracts. We designed the brand as a blend of these two principles.
In addition, the user experience must blend many of the traits of traditional stock investing along with Sharespost unique transaction model. We focused heavily on simplicity, relying on conventional controls and user interaction paradigms as frequently as possible, reserving innovation for the appropriate differentiated components of the Sharespost transaction experience.
